Mildly oxidized, gorgeously integrated Morillon/Sauvignon Blanc half-half, so brilliantly balanced and contemplative. Zero sulfur. Finally understand “clear and precise” as wine descriptors. — 6 years ago
Funky, unique and utterly complex, delicious. — 7 years ago
So often overlooked in North America there are some truly great wines that come from Austria. This light and lively Sauvignon Blanc with its clean citrus taste and light effervescent it’s almost as Mrs A said Champagne like. I agree only adding that on a hot day in the Canadian Rockies it’s soooo good. Cheers 🍷 — 8 years ago

Very good, spicy wine. Goes very well with vol-au-vents — 9 years ago
Morillon vom Opok
Biodynamic Chardonnay from Steiermark.
Cloudy, smokey, yeasty, sappy, fresh!
Bruised apples, ripe lemons, underripe pineapple, green mango. Plus some hay, flinty, smokey aromas. Juicy, fresh, enticing.
On the palate with vibrant acidity, with great freshness & depth. Rough around the edges, with a touch of cidery notes, a bit of VA. There’s a creamy touch to the mouthfeel. And a mineral hint. This is ultra drinkable and so delicious. Love it! — 4 years ago
Curve of Grau, Weißburgunder & Morillon. Nice complexity & depth with apricot & peach, some hay, a bit of herby minerality and nicely integrated wood. Round yet with character and good length. Very good. — 8 years ago
Excellent. Short finish. Light bodied. Fruity taste. — 8 years ago
Austria and her chardonnays...we need to get to know them. — 9 years ago

Very light with notes of apple and honey.

Hailing from Languedoc, this white has a similar profile to that of a Rhoné white blend. No idea of the blend, but the nose presents honey, apricot and dried herbs. The palate suggests that viognier is in the mix. Big notes of lychees and passion fruit are bold and strong, along with the oak, which I consider to be a little too prominent. Acidity is lacking, and this comes across a little too smooth. Still a good effort, just dial back on the oak treatment. — 6 years ago
A nice example of traditional method from Styria region in Austria. Chardonnay (or Morillon, which is a local name) shows its best- aromas of green grass, citrus, flowers and green apple. The body is quite full for a Sekt, but with a typical aftertaste of apricot, peach, bread and yeast. — 8 years ago
Needed to warm up a bit but once open was wonderful. Slightly cloudy unfiltered appearance, toasty orchard fruit with a bit of lemon and tarragon. Learned later that Morillon = Chard but totally different from a white burg or Cali chard or anything else really — 8 years ago
