Just perfect whether a 1/2 or a full bottle. Primary taste of white flowers, lychee, peach and pineapple. Perfect acidity, bitterness and off sweet. Now 10 to 15 years waiting for these secondary tastes to develop. Quite a challenge to not touch something this good earlier. — 4 days ago
This is what classic Bordeaux is all about. Perfume of tobacco, leather and cassis gives way to fully resolved tannins in the palate. Good acidity, leather, tobacco and cassis/currants on the palate finish super long. Haut Brion is always amazing and this bottle is definitely near or at its peak. — 2 days ago
This is a delicious dessert wine from France.
Delicious right out of the bottle and much better after an hour of airtime.
Showing oranges, tangerines, honey, ripen apples, Indian spices, pears, light tropical fruits, peaches and white pepper.
Full-bodied with high acidity and well balanced. Rich and extracted.
Showing nice complexity with a nice buttery mouthfeel.
Delicious and engaging.
Will age nicely in the next 20 to 30 years.
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.
I had it all by itself as a dessert.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

(65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petite Verdot). Deep purple color. Dark berry aromas and flavors. Hints of cedar, licorice, minerals and baking spices. Round and silky. Long finish. Well structured. Great value. — 8 days ago
Value Bordeaux is surely all about vintage. The 2016s, even at this low a price range, are ripe, concentrated and characteristic wines that hit the spot for the money. It’s been a while since I had BDX of any sort, and for a quick roast dinner tonight this really scratched that itch.
The nose opens with blackberry, cranberry, dried cherry and cedar all in quite pleasing balance - even a hint of menthol. The palate is less concentrated and more supple in feel, with gentle tannins, good acidity and great ripeness to the fruit, and the finish very satisfying. All in all a terrific value Bordeaux from this bountiful year. — 13 days ago
