Currant, red licorice plum tones with some earth/minerality — 20 days ago
Mag! Last of 6 that I bought back in 2014 for $15 each. What a steal and has aged so well. 100% Syrah. Dark purple, black plum. blackberry, olive tapenade, med tannins. — a month ago
Dark straw in color. Nectar and honey on the nose. A delicious semi-sweet wine with apricot, honey, cinnamon, pear, and candied peach on the palate. High acid, medium body, and a long finish. Eleven years on and drinking beautifully. — 3 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. No formal notes due to the setting. The 2018 is a fairly classic expression of Beaucastel with a mixed bramble fruit set, underbrush, herbs and spices in lovely balance. Good structure. While still on the youthful side, the 2018 is already showing well and was an awesome accompaniment with a wagyu burger. Drink now through 2038. — a month ago
Exceptional wine which evolved during the meal — 23 days ago
80% #grenache 10% #Syrah 5% #mourvedre and 5% #cinsault like a liquor and I love it. — 21 days ago
probably too young, but wasn’t blown away by it (91+) — a month ago
It had a weird texture to it and nothing memorable. Another one that is overpriced. — a month ago

Stunning creation from Clos du Marquis is a testament to the magnificent 2005 vintage. The wine offers an impeccable harmony of rich blackcurrant and plum aromas, intertwined with elegant notes of cedar, tobacco, and subtle spices. Its structured tannins and vibrant acidity create a perfectly balanced palate, while the long, sophisticated finish leaves a memorable impression. A truly remarkable expression of the Saint-Julien terroir that continues to evolve beautifully with time. — 23 days ago
