Been a while since I have had these wines and wow is this insanely great. Nose is a bit quiet but there’s some cassis and kirsch and slight herbal edge that’s so appealing. Smokey and very complex. But the palate is OMG level. Juicy and so sleek. Sweet fruit, unreal velvety tannin and so fresh. Structure to burn and such freshness and a huge mineral finish. Out of this world. Can’t wait till it opens up. Masterful. Unreal complexity and elegance. This could go to 9.7. — 8 days ago

Really an excellent cab franc. Have had stuff from Thierry Germain before but not this bottling. Perfect with a variety of Syrian dishes at Damas in Montreal. Bright, restrained fruit, excellent acid. Nice finish. — 7 months ago

@Ira Schwartz, all true, he took us to Domaine Chamonard (we were so cold tasting there that our teeth were literally chattering), also Lapalu and Janin in Beaujolais, always in his own cellars, and we’d spend a day at the Marche aux Vins in Ampuis!! In addition to making fabulous wines himself, Eric was so generous with his knowledge and connections, Lenoir in Chinon being another one!!

Getting ahead with some research off to Saumur/Loire Vallée, this little Saumur Champigny punches above it's weight, up there with mid level burgundy, climate change has done well for Cab Francs, Pinot Noir from Loire Vallée. Well structured, light but with a bit of depth, berries galore, bio organic too! — 9 months ago
