This Alsace Pinot has lots of up-front appeal with its boisterous nose of ripe cherry, vanilla, and bright spice. In the mouth it’s soft and has nice acids, but the fruit concentration is a little thin, and it devolves from mid-palate through the finish, which ends up on a slightly hollow woody note.

Color is medium-red, oak barrel notes, but in nice balance to the red cherry aromas and flavors, nice acid, medium-long finish, very good Alsatian Pinot Noir, which I expect will go very well with our grilled Canadian wild sockeye salmon!

Aug 9th, 2022Eleve en barrique, lovely medium-dark color, pretty ripe for an Alsatian Pinot Noir (13.9% ABV), barrel notes show, pretty young, seems like a leaner, but still plenty ripe, New World Pinot, impressive yet not sure I love it?!?!

Second Bohn bottle. Wow, amazing Pinot Noir! Fresh red berry aroma, a tad smokey and earthy. Great with roasted chicken and balsamic mesclun. Has a Gamay-like character, so does really well with a good chill. 13.5% ABV
