Vintage 2014 | half a year ago I wrote: this needs more time. 90 Malbec 10 Tannat 16 m barrel aging 1/3 new | Today I am very happy: explosion of cherries in smell and a velvety taste. Very comforting. Paired with comté, fromage de truffle and parmesan | second day with venison steak — 7 months ago
Light. Love it. Theatre of wine — 2 years ago
Thick and layered. Power machine with a subtle feminine touch of the aromatics. Finish very long and charming aftertaste. — 14 days ago
Found one of these bottles lying around from 1996 — a month ago
A day opened from another dinner, and shared during our cheese course. Honestly didn't focus much on this wine after the insane Comté and 13' Les Chalasses Marnes Bleues pairing. Plus, let's not forget about the battering of Rieslings that came before. One taste and I knew this just didn't have a fighting chance during the night. Too rich and creamy to match the energy of the Rieslings, yet not quite rich enough to match the 09' Lafon Perrieres. Nothing wrong per say, but it was just so average among the other wines of the night. Another one to look into again on better circumstances. — a year ago

Some goji in the mix, and a little peat. Very particular moment. Would crush with curry — 10 months ago
2019 vintage. Previously known as Château Capbern Gasqueton, but after the death of the last Gasqueton, the estate was sold (together with Calon-Ségur) to the French insurance company Suravenir. This 2019 Saint-Estèphe features a dark red colour with a purplish rim and an attractive perfume of blackberry, cassis , slightly smoked cedar wood and a hint of pepper. Concentrated layered black fruit, with fresh acidity that perfectly balances the surprisingly high alcohol (15% abv.). Terrific value at around 20 euros. — 2 years ago
