Old school natural wine
Niccolaini was the avant-garde of the movement without ever being in it himself.
I got told stories of a farm with no electricity perhaps a decade ago or so
Massa Vecchia is appreciated for all its labels and you can find out which one is your favourite
Personally i am not a rose drinker, but i knew i wasn't going to be disappointed here
This is more like a Valentini cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, but even more extract, i dare to say if you sell this wine for a red nobody would argue.
It's funky to start, it gives you cola and china and its fresh and fun, plus very long and mineral.
Quite earthy perhaps not a precise fruit to define, but real good altogether
For my understanding this is the last vintage made by Niccolaini' daughter in law as a winemaker and i keep a bottle of the next vintage..i am very curious to how he has come back to his captain seat. — 4 years ago

Fabulous Rosé — 3 months ago
A refreshing Pinot for a summer wine, not much else to add, it was great and it’s a little late to be reviewing it. And a great summer wine — a year ago
2022 still solid sipper! 12.5% — 2 years ago
Orange flowers and citrus on the nose. Sour cherry jam, strawberry, cassis on the palate. Little structure, balanced acidity. Heavier mouthfeel. Fantastic rosé. — 3 years ago
Very dark for a Rosé- light garnet, slightly translucent. Light bodied, slight light sweetness, red plum, strawberry, and a nice touch of acidity. Very good but a bit strange for a Rosé- — 4 years ago

Which rating would you give to a perfect rosé? — 3 years ago
Lightly salmon colour and lightly in their aromas. Fit‘s perfect with fish - a good value! — 3 years ago
Beautiful color, like a very light red or a dark rosé. Loads of strawberries on the nose and palate. Lovely floral aromas too. This definitely drank like a rosé, but paired well with the heartier fare we enjoyed tonight. This was a great find! 100% Montepulciano. 1/1/23. — 4 years ago
Lovely rosé — 4 years ago
Bellísimo. To my chagrin, not Cerasuola the Sicilian blend but Cerasuola d’Abruzzo (Montepeluciano). Still - rusty red, fruit punch jolly rancher with herbs and lot of effervescence. Like the native yeast here. Another out of mold rose. Enjoying end of summer at in laws pool with Farottos. — 5 years ago

Ceccherini Cristiano
I am not a rose person and this is not a classic rose
That is probably why i like it so much.
In Qld this could only be sold as chilled red, but it is instead an unfiltered, unclarified magliocco in a traditional rose version.
It fits in the cerasuolo(Valentini) category and it sits in it very comfortably
It has been in bottle 4 years already and it will get even better than this
What struck me the most when i tasted it at the cellar it was its mineral personality and then i drank it over 3 days with no signs of getting worse.
It is very complex, but also very easy drinking
I admit i had overlooked this wine when it was just bottled few years ago. Today you can see the full potential. Unfortunately we all know the rose market issue where all they look for are transparent French rose. I strongly recommend to look for this pretty boy which is not expansive at all but surely hard to source. About 600 bottles left(out of 2000?) and around 10euros at the cellar. Cheers! — a month ago
