Light and chill-able red with some zip! Natty on the nose with a crunchy, spicy, juicy palate. First had it at La Cave Du Cours in Nice. $40 at Grape Witches. — a year ago

I’m not sure where my previous note went.
Just when you thought you knew Italy, up pops this might as well be SwissFrench alpine darling from the Vallée D’Aoste.
Blanc de Morgex et de la salle. The town/village of Morgex lies just below Mt. Blanc. The Prié Blanc vines thrive in soil that has not known phylloxera.
Stones, herbs, and lemons all wrapped up in a rather electric pkg. I think drink young. Cold, the nose doesn’t have much to say past stone fruit, maybe rainier cherries.,But the palate is pow! Lemons, herbs, mineral, high acid and refreshing. With fried Branzino, perfect!
Always a sucker for high altitude Italian.

Trying this with a Chinese dish of beef ribs in soy sauce and ginger, and it works perfectly. Lychee flavours and quite sweet. — a year ago
A still young Cahors with round and powerful tannins as one would expect from this appellation. Nose of black fruits, prune, eucalyptus, fresh ink, smoke, chalk, graphite. The body of the wine is generous and round. The finish is correct without extravagance. Will age favorably with a few years in the cellar.
— 4 years ago
