The walrus and the carpenter Seattle (Ballard) with Katherine and james. 7/3/23 lots@of oysters Amazing — 3 years ago
Carpenter coming correct!! This is wound up like a starstruck boy around the finger of his celebrity crush. You get hints of all the lovely Pinotness, but it actually needs some decanting (of the second day) to really truly explode. Classic Cali PN, but with a clean mineral depth that speaks of other influences. — 6 years ago

Tasted this new wine with Chris Carpenter who makes "Lokoya" in Napa Valley. Chris is making this wine at Yangarra. The nose is sweet perfumed blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, tarry notes, licorice & dried red florals. The wine on the palate is pretty, soft and elegant dark florals, plum, dark cherries, blackberries, soft wood use, soft leather, soft darker minerals, crushed dry rocks, violets, anise, mocha powder and a lean ripe finish that deepens on the long beautiful finish. — 9 years ago
Ah, Vietti. Always good. Our dear friend Val has flown in for my wife's birthday, and we are popping a few bottles tonight. This is a very nice expression of Nebbiolo. Lively and fruity, with a touch of rose petal and a little chocolate (on the nose).

Raspberry compote, creme de violette, a handful of wet soil with crushed twigs and leaves. Balance and structure like the work of a romantic carpenter building his dream house. Like a semi-lucid dream where a warm, hazy sky is breaking like a glow stick into twilight hues and you’re on a beautiful old double decker steam train with a rooftop standing area. You’re whizzing by vibrant green fields of gigantic flowers, their petals flapping slowly in the wind like sheets drying on a line. Old oak trees growing fruits in colours that don’t exist yet. Glowing fireflies just above your head like painterly orange astronomy. In the dream it’s New Years Eve but in the dream everyday is New Years Eve and you could very well spend everyday alone with your dream power. — 8 years ago
New producer to me and new for Delectable as well. Thanks to @Philip Carpenter for the tip. Solid line up across the board and probably our red wine of the day. Santa Barbara County Vintners Association Spring Festival. — 9 years ago
Needs months, but it will age gracefully — 9 years ago
Dark dark wine. Soft spices, vanilla, and herbs on the nose. This really needed some time for the palate to come alive but when it did she showed what she's working with. Black pepper, blackberries, mushrooms, and just the hint of green olives team up to knock this out of the park. Really nice mouthfeel with dry, dry tannins. You won't even notice the almost inexplicable 15.7 until the end. Very impressive from St. Helena. — 9 years ago
Another gem from Chris Carpenter. Full bodied with concentrated mountain fruit. Silky tannins. Long savory finish. Enjoy now and years to come — 3 months ago

Chocolate notes. Slight cigar flavor as well — 7 years ago
Clean and crisp, this Bordeaux blend made by Chris Carpenter is heavy on the citrus - grapefruit, lemon and lime - with a touch of creaminess from the oak and a hint of sweetness from the semillon. The flavors are layered making this very enjoyable. There’s a nice acidity to this. The flavors were suited to this being well chilled and perfect and quite refreshing on a hot day. As much as I enjoyed this now, I think In 1-2 years this will be even better (it is only a ‘17). Hope everyone is enjoying this Memorial Day weekend! — 8 years ago
Exceeded my expectations. Likely will continue to improve. Thanks to @Philip Carpenter for the hookup on this. — 9 years ago
