Conca Tre Pile Barbera d'Alba 2021

2021 vintage. A bit of everything. Esteemed producer. Excellent nose. Front-palate richness. Mid-palate power and presence. Pleasantly astringent and beyond substantial finish. I usually eschew Barbera d'Alba for the resto list but couldn't deny this one. Picked up two cases and may pick up more to have laying around for 1.5-2 years. At the ridiculous resto price of $26.67, I can't afford not to. So delicious. 01.29.25. — 18 days ago

Coste & Fossati Dolcetto d'Alba 2019

Plum, berry and some pleasant earthy notes, nice balance, some structure still, and a long, lingering finish, really pleasant Dolcetto!! — 18 days ago

Barbera d'Alba 2022

After sending back an oxidized, tired 2020 Rossi di Montalcino, the Somm had the waiter bring back this wine at around the same price point. Don’t sleep on #barberadalba from a great producer. Raspberry, plum, dusty dark fruit nose. So vibrant on the palate with lush yet tangy dark red fruit on the entry, gossamer tannins on the finish. Corking it after dinner and after the next day in the wine fridge still as alive. — 4 months ago
