La Araucaria Tinto Paraje La Perdoma Tenerife Valle de la Orotava Listan Negro

Needs so much time to open. Nose is full of spring vegetation that has been decomposing over the winter and now is freshly ready to grow. Dark. Tons of dark-earth and stone terroir. Super tannic. Once open (hours), smooths out a little. Heavy finish. Grows on you. Unique. — 11 days ago

Las Rocas Calatayud Garnacha 2016

What a nice surprise! Old world style garnacha, with tight tannins, white pepper, assorted spice (cardoman notes), and no excessive fruitiness. Really great value, the way Spanish wines used to be before the imports all became new world style fruit bombs. — 2 months ago

El Vinculo La Mancha Tempranillo 2013

This smells of cedar cigar box, exactly how I love a Spanish wine to smell.

Mint, Eucalyptus, herbaceous, low fruit, high acid, a neat wine for 16$
Medium to heavy body, a Tempranillo that holds weight. Worth the tipple.

La Araucaria Valle de la Orotava Tinto Listan Negro 2015

I don’t ever get tired of this. Has a real power & legs to age, as This is bottle 4 or 5, & still have a few left. Getting sleeker & more integrated. Black fruits, bramble & eucalyptus on nose. Canary wines simply astound me. — a month ago
