16’ Peter Michael Cuvee Indigene.
Do yourself a favor & decanted this in a cellar for 60- 90 minutes.
Intense nose of mineral, dried apricot, peach.
WOW… Rich pear, fig, butter, honeysuckle, hazelnut, Banana foster, 4/10 acidity.
Flipping sick!
Wish I had a case of this.
No problem holding onto this wine for another decade. — 3 years ago
2002 Half Bottle of ZH Clos Windsbuhl. Indice 3. 18 years of Half Bottle age have brought this wine into the beginning of its peak drinking window with likely another 5-10 years left before seeing any declines. Bright acidity of lime skin & lemon pulp. Apricot, Peach, yellow apple, caramel, banana foster, hint of honey. Slightly off-dry but perfectly balanced with a finish that lasts for miles — 4 years ago
I have long been a fan of St. George for a long time, and this confirms my high opinion of them. Nose of rye spice with vanilla and bananas foster, and on the taste, honey-sweetened tea with clove and pepper, masala tea spices, oak, and bitter chocolate. Orange emerges immediately on the finish with subsequent honey. — 4 years ago
Blake brought from Pogos. Said he likes a Pinot but heavier. Enjoyable. — 4 years ago
Topaz with heavenly streamers stretching for perfection. Creamy head of structured perfection in terms of density and longevity. Perfect sheet of fog lacing falls like a slo-mo curtain to reveal layer two of mountain snows reflecting moonlight. Nose of bananas foster in all its blazing brandy and it’s caramelized olfactory topography; a malt image in sensory sepia to match the mountainscape. Nutmeg, cola and pecan dessert vies with baklava. The palate is a revelation in balance. The expected Belgian malt emerges in contrast to a dappled vanilla and Connecticut tobacco, pecan shell dryness, and chicory coffee before returning to a root tonic sweetness, and cardamom. #kwak #belgianspecialbeers #belgianale #belgianbeer #pauwelkwak #pauwelkwakbrewery #beer #bier #birra #biere #ale #ceveza #cerveja #belgium #belgian — 4 years ago
Sampling this new addition to my collection, which is also my very first Kavalan. On the nose it closely resembles bourbon, with notes of caramel, holiday spices, dark chocolate, and creme brûlée. On the palate, however, it’s a bit more stern and less suave than I anticipated with notes of worn saddle leather, toasted nuts, clove, espresso, and bananas foster. The finish is quite warm. — 4 years ago
