Another vintage - still very good. Fruity with some leather and smoke. — 9 days ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nose of red and black fruits with light wood, tobacco and chocolate notes.
Dry on the palate with sweet raspberries, cherries, light oak, licorice, chocolates, spices and earth.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This young Grenache blend is starting to drink very nicely now, with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
Elegant and rich. Interesting and engaging. A very traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape in style.
Well balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will also pair nicely with food.
A blend of all 13 allowed grapes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but mostly Grenache. Hand picked and whole cluster. Aged for 2 years in large French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

A classic Coonawarra Cabernet nose of mint, herbs, blackberry and leafiness. Very vibrant and energetic for a 15 year old wine. Most of that carrying through to the medium to full bodied palate. One of the icons of the Australian wine scene, first produced in 1954 and one of the most collected wines in Australia. Very underpriced for its quality and pedigree. I might leave my last bottle for 5 years in its 20th year. It will easily travel the journey. — 2 days ago
Hearty Blend. Just had it with a filet. Hit the spot. Love the Orin swift wines. They are true to their original form from when they started. Very good. A little spice, blackberry. — 6 days ago
Opened and decanted hours prior to dinner; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 1989 appears a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of tart, ripe, and dried fruits: cassis, blackberries, black cherry, black plum, tobacco, Poblano pepper, mixed dried flowers, some cocoa, pencil shavings, dried green herbs, a touch of leather, some organic and gravelly earth and fine warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Fabulous stuff with plenty of fuel left in the tank. Drink now through 2039. — 13 days ago
Deep ruby color. Black fruits on the nose and the palate, with chocolate, licorice, and oak. Bold and full bodied with mild tannins. Lingering finish. Great blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Syrah. It was worth the 8 year wait. — 9 days ago
Another solid vintage of an old favorite. Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc blended in. Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of cooked black fruit, forest floor, rose petals, violets and wet soil. Flavors of black berry/currant/plum, tobacco, anise, huckleberry, mint and dark chocolate. Well balanced, herbal and savory long finish. Well integrated tannins. Medium-plus body. Fruit forward but well crafted. — 23 days ago
Opened a few hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of an hour. This bottle of the 1986 was re-corked at the chateau in 2011. The wine pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and some dried dark and red fruits: black currants, brambles, black plum, tobacco, pencil shavings, some dried flowers, green pepper, leather, some earth and a gentle mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This seemed evergreen and this bottle spending most of its life in the cellars of the chateau likely has a lot to do with that. Fabulous stuff. Drink now through 2046. — 13 days ago

Yeah, from a plastic cup. This is absolutely singing and showing zero signs of aging. Textured, layered and tannic. Nice espresso notes give way to black cherries and pure cassis. From magnum. — 7 days ago
