Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Beautiful nose of black currants, black plums, black cherries, cedar, light vanilla, milk chocolates, light earth, tobacco, black pepper and mediterranean spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, light cedar, cherries, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, black pepper, herbs and light green tea.

Long finish with fine grained tannins, cherries and peppercorn.

This 6 year old Single Vineyard Zinfandel from Sonoma Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and fruit forward, elegant and nicely balanced. Tangy and spicy.

Delicious by itself, and good right out of the bottle.

Starting to drink at its peak now, and will continue to do so in the next 5 years. Showing a beautiful nose already, with lots of complexity. The high alcohol is well integrated by now.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

A blend of 98% Zinfandel and 2% Alicante Bouschet from 100 year old vines. Aged in French and American Oak barrels for 16 months.

15% alcohol by volume.

Day 1 of this year's Smallmouth Smackdown has begun. After 7 hours on the boat, and a dozen bass, it's time to crack into some libations (had a few PBR's on the boat).
This is a lush Zin. Concentrated fruit, but savory and chewy. Blackberry, blood orange, cigar box, and enough structure to age much longer. This is my 3rd Ridge Zin, and I'd have to say I still favor the Pagani Ranch.

Needed to fill out a half case and this looked intriguing. Quite tasty. Interesting blend - palomino, muscadelle, and then a bit of semillon, chenin blanc, and burger (?). Balanced and textured. Gentle on the palate, but with a nice full finish. — a year ago

Actually the “Norma’s Block” bottling - apparently made from a small parcel within Pagini Ranch still owned by a grandmother. Delicious. Dense and fruit forward, with excellent acid keeping things balanced throughout. Quite enjoyable. — a year ago
