To celebrate my 9,000 reviews on vivino, here is a beautiful Pinot Noir.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong fruity nose with bing cherries, raspberries, sweet strawberries, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, earth and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, black cherries, light earth, herbs, spices, vanilla, cedar, black pepper, light cola, dark coffee and licorice. black pepper.

Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This Pinot Noir from Burgundy is already drinking very nicely, but still extremely young. Well balanced and smooth with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

I had it blind right out of the bottle. That was a nice surprise. I called 2018 Burgundy Pinot Noir, but I did not see this kind of bottle coming... What a great experience to blind taste such an iconic wine.

There is always an aura when drinking these kind of wines, but drinking them blind, gives you a perspective that might be missed otherwise.

Needed 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, and bring more complexity. Much better once it opens up.

I had an older vintage of this wine a year ago, and it is such a different wine. Will continue to age nicely in the next 30 to 40 years.

1982 vintage. Cinnamon and baked cherry nose with specks of pepper; eucalyptus aura shimmering. Rye bread with plum reduction, dusty cedar, dehydrated blackberry, broiled blueberry, reflective graphite glimmers, toasted wheat, holly leaf. Baked bing and raspberry with dried plum skin; black currant reduction with all kinds of legs. Sage and dandelion leaf, dried black mushroom, bitter blueberry, graphite gravy, and a side of pomegranate. So fun to taste this legendary vintage. Seems to be in the perfect place now.

La robe est dense, signe d’évolution à peine perceptible.

En bouche c’est puissant, c’est rond, il y a de la matière. Le Vin est intriguant, on veut y replonger le nez, pour voir s’il y aura de nouvelles arômes. La fraise et le cèdre font leur apparition en bouche 4:15PM. Je sens que le vin va évoluer tout au long de la soirée.

Apres quelques heures en carafe, on dénote, le coté viandeux, plus terreux, boite à cigare qui se mélange parfaitement aux autres aromes.

Je m’attendais à un profil plus bourguignon ou plus Rhône Nord comme le 2004 dégusté il y a déjà quelques années mais non je l’ai trouve un peu plus costaud qu’a mon souvenir mais c’est tout à fait excellent et extrêmement bien fait

Very well made but not what I want from wine. I have posted how much I enjoy my beer in this style and if I tasted this blind I would have identified as such. Graphite and raisin, fig and marinated porcini, smoky dried cherries, black pepper on grilled beef fat, toasted sesame, dried black and red currants, all within an aura of damson and violet and honeyed rose petal. Palate leaps with damson and dried and fresh bing cherry, dried spiced plum, cedar and dried lavender, black olive, moist tobacco, and perfectly toned tannins which come off as a separate, undefinable taste of fruit skin extraction with stunning depth; tea leaves meet dried blackberry in a redwood stand. Soft date and creamy fig follow to a tart raspberry end.

Ruby colour of beautiful intensity. Peppery nose, fresh red and black fruits, animal notes, bacon, and smoked. A racy, straight Cornas. Velvety mouth texture. Syrah as we like it. 2014 a vintage a priori not obvious, which will have ended up finding its balance in its ninth year.

Let’s just say that this is not your average pink blush, this very unique Rosé from the grand master of Rioja, R Lopez de Heredia, is absolutely outstanding. An admirable wine with a meditative aura. Perhaps the best (non-Champagne) Rosé that I’ve encountered.
The 2010 (!) vintage was aged for 4 years in old American oak and 7 years in bottle. Despite its age the fruit profile is shining with a very intense profile of dried strawberries, orange zest, toffee, fennel seeds, before revealing its mature side with an elegant portion of potting soil, tobacco and a slight minty volatile lift.
Extraordinary concentration on the palate, full bodied and well built with a creamy toffee like mid palate. But there is nerve and tension in the center with a slight grip that brings balance and nuance across a complex evolving finish — 3 years ago
