Holy moly this pinot is delicious. Delicate, with some raspberry, fresh light herbs, anise, and clove tones with elevated, yet juicy acidity... the thing that makes this pinot so good is that it is simple, with excellent balance, and yet still has some complex layers. Aromas are enticing, and the finish is almost bone dry. Fairly young of course - could use a few more years to really be in its prime, however even now it is just flippin' fantastic. One of the best under $50 pinot noir I've had in a while. — 9 days ago
Orange bitters, acetone, and crushed flowers on the nose. Slightly headier in the alcohol scent, esp after a day, than the ABV suggests. Sidenote: the color and light garnet shine is almost identical to the Damilano Nebbiolo we had 2 days ago. Candied orange, cherry stem, touch of oak and bark on the palate. Lots of body and decent finesse, and more nuanced than a lot of peer Pinots. Terrific at $24 club pricing. — 6 days ago
Located in the heart of Sonoma, WALT focuses on sourcing Pinot Noir fruit from premiere appellations. Ruby with aromas of red berry fruit, tea and herb spice notes. Aged for 10 months on French oak (45% new). On the palate an array or berry flavors with smoky cedar notes and light elegant spice. Fine tannins with an earthy grit, savory, lingering ending with earthy smoky notes. Very nice! — 12 days ago
Last bottle I have of this and time has helped it. A streak of crunchy cherry, some sweet/savory gravel, and a whiff of tomato leaf on the nose. Intense cherry, mineral, and a bit of spice in the mouth. Tannin barely there. Crisp acids (12.9%). Very nice with coq au vin. — 9 days ago
A little sediment and a little cloudiness but quite delicious Anderson Valley, Charles vineyard Pinot Noir from Foresight Wines. — 4 days ago
The ‘Velvet Sisters’ saw 16 months of 40% new French oak and is sourced from the Anderson Valley AVA. Needing time in the glass to develop, it slowly begins with a nice combination of citrus rind, red fruits and dark fruits all woven together in the glass. As the wine grabs some air, the wine takes on a darker fruit profile on the palate, still maintaining a citrus rind edge. Rich and decadent, yet restrained, this stunning wine will cellar well for the next fifteen to twenty years. Be sure to give this a two hour decant if enjoying in its youth. BBQ & Zin night!
Surprised at the professional reviews here. Maybe this has gotten significantly better with age. My first time with this producer. Stewed tomato, bacon fat, herbs, teriyaki marinated blackberries. Really nice. — 20 days ago
