Earthy aromas and a little natural funk, the more powerful aromas do not match the more subtle flavors of earth and black fruits, with mild acidity and surprising tannins. Alsatian Adventure private tasting. — 2 years ago
Yes, an aged Loire Romaratin. 12 years aged & intriguing: Dainty and fino like on back end, moderate acid & more floral than fruit. For 20$ a worthwhile adventure… — 2 years ago
Pale ruby in color; cherries, oak, and raspberries on the nose; high acidity; medium; tastes like cranberries, pomegranates, and wet gravel with a long fruity finish. None of the herb flavors I've had in other chiantis I've had, but still really good. Great for the price! Pleasant and easy to drink. Nellie says it's ok. — 5 months ago
Best birthday wine from our NZ adventure! — 4 years ago
This second wine is delightful but would benefit from more cellar age. A bit floral on the nose, the palette of dark fruit and fine tannins make for an interesting adventure for the consumer. — a year ago
Vacations that involve both cycling and wine are the absolute best. Already thinking of where to go in 2023.
Last night my neighbors shared this gem that they brought back from a recent Bordeaux wine and bike holiday. (Note to self to spend more time with the fun neighbors 😁).
The 2014 Château Destieux was super approachable after a short decant. Very ripe concentrated fruit, but not in a bad way. Complex with soft tannins. 14.5% ABV. Really a lovely bottle.
Rule #64 Remember to bring back a bottle (or bottles) while traveling. The subsequent stories about the adventure will pair perfectly with that wine. — a year ago
So yummy! The first day we opened it, it was super funky - sour cherries and sausage?? It was also so silky and bubbly that first day. But after 2 days, it lots that weird meaty/farmy taste and became just a beautiful, rich, bright wine and didn’t lose its bubble :) ripe strawberries, cherries, rounded tannins. What an adventure! — 3 years ago
