Bockenauer Kabinett Riesling 2009

A lush tropical smoothie. Passionfruit, pine-apple, tangy citrus bitterness in the finish. Frothy, satisfying and utterly drinkable at 7,5% ABV. — 3 months ago

Felseneck Großes Gewächs Trocken Riesling 2010

Crazy after 10 years. Petrolly a hint of dried pineapple.

Palate is still fresh. Juicy. dried pineapple. Mineral balance. Crazy. Maybe the wall of flavor minerality has dissipated a bit but you are getting some interesting new flavors.

Stromberg Großes Gewächs Riesling 2017

Pale straw colour. Tight, mineral and lean. Slightly effervescent. A day open in the fridge failed to yield more generosity. Park it for some years in the cellar and it is likely to show better. — 5 months ago

Schiefergestein Bockenauer Trocken Riesling 2017

Schäfer Fröhlich, what else is there to say. Some producers just got it. Crazy that this is a village wine. So pure riesling in the glass, fantastic reductive still generous but after all light and refreshing. Best qpr for awhile. 🇩🇪 — 2 months ago

Felseneck Riesling 2014

The 2014 Schäfer-Fröhlich Felseneck GG is smoky and savory, with musky animal tones that really pull you closer to the glass, as notes of ripe pear and lemon citrus rind fill out it’s fruit component.  On the palate, soft, round textures flood the senses, showing ripe orchard fruits offset by stimulating acids with penetrating minerals and sweet spice.  The finish is long, resonating on fruit sweetness with notes of kiwi and peach, yet holding firm, perfectly framed by cheeking-pucking acids and spice.  This comes across as larger-scaled than the surrounding vintages, yet balancing opulence and precision, making for an incredibly enjoyable glass of Riesling — 5 months ago
