Probably my favourite producer of Barolo...never had a bad bottle. This is young with bracing tanins but it is already so approachable. Cherries, leather and menthol dominate but there is so much depth. Lovely wine! — 6 days ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2020

Another excellent vintage of this Rosso di Montalcino. Bright ruby color. Aromas of red and black plums, crushed stone, blackberries and balsamic vinegar. Same fruits on the palate (along with black cherry) with a nice hint of spice on the very long finish. Well balanced with vibrant acidity. Ripe tannins. Bold, but not “over the top.” Excellent wine. Costa Grimaldi Barolo Nebbiolo 1996

Stunning wine to celebrate our 27th anniversary, still plenty of structure and tannin to make things interesting with age and acid still to keep it fresh to the last drop. Dark rose, saddle leather, sort of a wild like red onion skin note and a bit of anise on the nose. Wine evolved and opened until the last drop, we chose to have it open in the glass rather than decant. If there is any more of this wine go find it!! — a month ago

Heady and heavy. This had dark color and tasted of dark fruit combined with wet earth. It was fragrant but not overly so. I loved the balance and the mouthfeel but it did seem a tad under punching vs normal. — 2 months ago
