Mission Hill Family Estate

Oculus Estate Bottled Red Bordeaux Blend 2013

Bold, powerful red Bordeaux style blend. Merlot 53%, Cab Sav 23%, Cab Franc 22%, Petit Verdot 4%. Dark cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate. There are strong notes of black pepper, peppercorn and tobacco mixed with old fine leather. Aged for 14 months in small French barrels and 15 months in bottle. 79 barrels produced. This definitely needs 2hrs to decant, and will continue to blossom as the night progresses. Had some early sips after an hour, and an hour and a half of decanting and the tannins still needed time to settle. — 4 months ago
