Bee Hunter

Elevate Mendocino County Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2017

A very tasty Pinot Noir from California. Nicely balanced with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking with medium acidity.

Medium bodied and dry on the palate. Fruit forward with nice complexity.

Showing red fruits with light wood, spices, tobacco, chocolates and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself.

13.2% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50.

Gehricke

Los Carneros Pinot Noir 2014

August Sebastiani & brother-in-law, Kendrick Coakley, craft small-lot wines made with minimal intervention, so one can enjoy the truest representation of each appellation & how its terroir impacts specific varietals. Came across this rarity & grabbed a bottle. Aromas of ripe berry fruits & wafts of floral notes. On the palate raspberry & blueberry flavors, sweet cinnamon spice with an edge of tobacco tones. Smooth tannins, lingering ending with soft oaky notes. Great value! Nice! Small production. — 17 days ago

Stunning, crystalline visual presentation. Leads into a honied, medium-weight palate. Lots of texture and layers meet soft acidity. Pineapple and guava dominate the finish. A sexy little beast for sure. This has arrived at its apex - drink now. — 12 days ago

Shangra-li Mendo Savv-B 2020

Looks like grapefruit juice in the glass. Smells of seashore and pomelo. Palate is lovely and complex. Tart limes, sea brine, some wood, a hint of tropical fruits, more citrus flavors, grass/hay component. It lingers on my palate with an almost nuttiness. I really enjoy this. It reminds me of some scholium project wines I’ve had in the past. — 11 days ago

Etude

Estate Grown Grace Benoist Ranch Pinot Noir 2018

2018 vintage. Medium-bodied. Pretty/candied nose and entry palate. Glides along without any sharp edges. Ends up being a good MOTR pinot and they come in handy for bigger groups and the casual wine consumer. — 10 days ago

Elizabeth Carneros Pinot Noir 2016

Bright ruby garnet with a dark purple core. Inviting nose of Marasca cherries and a hint of vanilla. Medium palate echoes the nose with classic Carneros medium minus acidity and low tannins. Moderate finish. While I prefer PN with darker fruit and better structure, this is definitely a classic example of the California style that should more than satisfy those who favor it. The low acidity makes it work well with spicier fare like blackened salmon or Mediterranean duck. Drink now through 2024. — 2 days ago
