A very tasty Pinot Noir from California. Nicely balanced with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking with medium acidity.

Medium bodied and dry on the palate. Fruit forward with nice complexity.

Showing red fruits with light wood, spices, tobacco, chocolates and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself.

13.2% alcohol by volume.

August Sebastiani & brother-in-law, Kendrick Coakley, craft small-lot wines made with minimal intervention, so one can enjoy the truest representation of each appellation & how its terroir impacts specific varietals. Came across this rarity & grabbed a bottle. Aromas of ripe berry fruits & wafts of floral notes. On the palate raspberry & blueberry flavors, sweet cinnamon spice with an edge of tobacco tones. Shangra-li Mendo Savv-B 2020

Looks like grapefruit juice in the glass. Smells of seashore and pomelo. Palate is lovely and complex. Tart limes, sea brine, some wood, a hint of tropical fruits, more citrus flavors, grass/hay component. It lingers on my palate with an almost nuttiness. I really enjoy this. It reminds me of some scholium project wines I’ve had in the past. — 11 days ago

Elizabeth Carneros Pinot Noir 2016

Bright ruby garnet with a dark purple core. Inviting nose of Marasca cherries and a hint of vanilla. Medium palate echoes the nose with classic Carneros medium minus acidity and low tannins. Moderate finish. While I prefer PN with darker fruit and better structure, this is definitely a classic example of the California style that should more than satisfy those who favor it. The low acidity makes it work well with spicier fare like blackened salmon or Mediterranean duck. Drink now through 2024. — 2 days ago
