Collector's Series 50th Anniversay Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, coffee, peppercorn, tobacco, smoke, peppermint, licorice, spices, chocolates and coffee.

Smells like figs wrapped in bacon, and shoved in the oven. Loved it, and loved those cedar notes.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 8 year old from the great 2012 vintage is spicy, rich and smooth. Delicious and tasty.

This is exactly what you want from a Napa Cabernet. Not too over the top. Nicely balanced with a great mouthfeel and nice complexity.

Delicious once it opens up. I had this vintage before and this time I gave It 3 hours. Will be good in the next 5 years.

Good by itself or with food. A nice sipping wine to share with friends and talk about.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

Mt. Brave

Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This single block is exceptional. Bountiful nose leads into a tantalizing black Cherry driven palate. Cases and coco, with hints of olive. Completely integrated tannins and soft mouthfeel. Still medium acidity for longer cellaring. — 14 days ago

Thanksgiving dinner 2020 was a good enough reason to open this cabernet we’ve been aging for 2+ years. Perfectly paired with prime rib, notes of blackberries and tobacco. — 9 days ago

@Paul T- Huntington Beach have you ever been to VT? Seems like a place which could be to cold and rugged for you.

Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

dark ruby violet; a bit closed, blackberry, black cherry, graphite, menthol, sage; black and blue fruits, gravelly minerality; full bodied, very fresh acidity, suave tannins, 13.75% ABV; needs more time in the cellar but great potential here; $120 — 8 days ago

Peter Franus

Brandlin Vineyard Zinfandel 2015

25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!

Mt. Carmel Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

Interesting that this initially tastes of oak and some crime brûlée but as it warmed I got more acid and tons of tart fruit such as lemons, limes, persimmon, and some stones at the end. Really liked this despite being skeptical initially. Drinking well now but has time left. — 5 days ago
