Forma de Arte Reserva Red Blend

Before we take a sip, we must embrace this bouquet! The bouquet was amazing. Full of blackberries, cedar and oak. On the palet, this full bodied wine is on the dryer side but paired well with a Tuscan pizza! I guess it comes down to what you eat it with?! The Italians are the wine experts but the Portuguese do a great job! — 9 days ago

Really enjoyed this wine. No harsh after taste. Just the right amount of fruit flavor. Yum. — an hour ago

Santo Isidro de Pegões

Portinho do Côvo Potugal Aragonês Blend 2020

Great alone, with food, so solid. Vibrant sweet berries. Tannins moderate and nice. Had two bottles. Cab Sav and Syrah play very well together. Syrah ands the acute, light sweetness full mouth. — 17 days ago

Limited Edition Very Old Single Harvest Porto 1972

Once again: I'm not a porto fan. And this one is The exception. Maybe because it's 50 years old, whether it's f.ckin' good. Smooth, elegant, with coffee, honey sweetness and very long finish. Best porto I've ever had. And probably the last one. — 2 days ago

Luis Seabra Vinhos

Xisto Cru Tinto 2016

Nose has blackberry jam, moist leather, fig paste, charred wood, chopped dark chocolate and faint vanilla.

Palate has dried blueberry, blackberry, dried black currant, muddy garden soil, faint dried strawberry with mild tannins and medium acidity.

Solid pairing to a baked 'Mac & Cheese' dish fancied up with a béchamel sauce, Gorgonzola & Fontina cheeses, breadcrumbs and Casarecce Corte pasta. (Interpretation of a recipe courtesy of Joanne Weir)

Caves São João

Quinta do Poço do Lobo Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

This is in such an enjoyable spot at the moment, full of dried fruits and tertiary notes, this is medium bodied, fine and resolved tannin, with med+ aroma and flavor intensity. Fruit that tastes partially dried but has some primary character, cassis, currants and black cherry mingle with mint and baking spice notes, subtle notes of oak weave seamlessly into the bouquet and palate. Finishes med+. — a month ago
