Vintage 1970 | quite an experience tasting Port that is 52 years old. In 1970 the Beatles were disbanded, The footballclub Feijenoord Rotterdam was the first Dutch winner of the worldcup, the Boeing 747 made its first commercial flight. Beautiful balanced port. Thanks @Eric Hoepelman @Martijn

Deep rich Ruby fruit. Gorgeously soft and complex. A little bit of alcohol. Really polished and delicious. Drinking very well.

Soft maybe a touch attenuated. I'm a little stuff up but this is still good. Great color huge amount of sediment even with twice decanting with cheese cloth. I may like slightly younger ports. Where you can still sense more fruit. Lightly tannic but sort of hot tell

If jet-set had a fragrance, it would be Fonseca Port 1970. Imagine the smell of Jackie O's purse from that year: expensive Italian leather, spicy tobacco, brown sugar-and-bergamot perfume, maybe a sprig of mint from the Onassis compound. Fat and sweet, with a delightfully serious, old-school label.

Elegant and brightly fruited (cherries, fresh figs). Very well balanced, soft woody spices like cinnamon, cloves, licorice and sandalwood.
Marvelous...
