Giordano Piemonte Rosso 2017
Appearance: Medium bodied Barbera inky ruby hue
Nose: Vanilla, licorice and pepper.
Notes: Blackberry, mulberry, black cherry and subtle thyme
Impression: Finely grained tannins and spicy finish. Yet another delicious Italian wine. — 9 days ago
Leather, licorice, hint of oak, spice box and small red berries on the nose. Phenomenal acidity with medium body that ends in a medium finish. Something seems to be lacking at the end here for sure tho a great effort for a very different kind of Cabernet blend. — 7 days ago
Cloudy light gold wine. Aroma of wild yeast, soft orange, tea, and honey. Tart, off-dry, with a mild bitter aftertaste. Low tannins. One of my favorite skin contact wines. — 6 days ago
The 2016 Flaccianello della Pieve is a truly special, moving wine. There's not much more to say. The 2016 was epic when I tasted it last year. It is every bit as memorable today. Beautifully layered, the 2016 possesses remarkable finesse and power. All of the natural intensity of Panzano's Conca d'Oro comes through in a wine that dazzles from start to finish. As always, Flaccianello showcases the darker side of Sangiovese. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2020) — 8 days ago
Nose is dense mid to late season cherry with some dust.
Palate is dense cherry. Black cherries. Succulent. Really terrific fruit. A nice acid kick on the finish. Licorice?
I’m not sure how potent the secondary flavors are here. I’d be inclined to drink this over the next 2-3 years on its brilliant fruit.

This Sardinian wine - the Carignano grape, mainly - is extremely dark and smells of tart, red fruit and a strong herbal accent. It’s really a wonderful nose. The palate comes on a bit riper, but not much. The acidity is quite fresh and racy, while the tannins are firm enough, but do not get in the way. Pair this wine with salami. — 4 days ago
Mid to pale Ruby in colour - a little cloudy. Cowyard pooey aromas - perhaps a touch of Brettanomyces. On the palate, just medium weight but highly savoury with sour sappy cherry. Soft almost non existent tannins. Essentially an easy to drink red which was a great match with homemade Pizza. — 3 days ago
Fresh fragrant fruit aromas with slight mousse and bubble flow. On the palate stone and berry fruit flavors on dryer crisp side, but leaning towards off-dry, good balance between fruit and crispness, pear and peach flavors. ending clean and elegant with underlying sweetness. Pricey but a nice Prosecco, one of the better ones. Tasting Sample. — 8 days ago
Subtle floral nose when first opened that got better as the night progressed. Bright cherries and pomegranate flavors encased in great acidity backed by rustic tannins mid-pallet made this wine an excellent pairing with a good steak. The finish exhibited a little hint of licorice or dark chocolate. It has been way too long since we have dined here and it felt very good to be there tonight. A great wine in my opinion. — 18 hours ago
Fontalloro is exquisite in 2017. It is also such a contrast to the Rancia, as the two wines could not possibly be more different. Fontalloro is bright and vibrant, with more sweet red Sangiovese character than the darker Rancia. It is also incredibly delicious now, even though it clearly has the energy to age for many years. The 2017 is one of the finest Fontalloros I can remember tasting. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2020) — 8 days ago
