1/2 hour decant (little cloudy sediment). A formidable dark tawny red color with decent bricking. On the nose: subtle nose of stewed meat, iron, cherry, smoke, and herbs. Taste: A creamy, smooth medium plus body wine with mouth coating raspberry, minerals, tar, leather, little chocolate, and a smokey tobacco medium plus finish. Drink em now or over the next few years. Cheers! — 21 days ago
One of my spring / summer pets (thanks @Maura Passanisi for introducing me). A Viognier picked so early that it can masquerade as Riesling: lemon/lime dominant, light summer jasmine, subtle hints of underripe nectarine and tropical fruit (mango?). Racy acidity. No grandma’s perfume here. Medium, buttery body. Excellent paired with coconut 🍤🍤🍤 tacos. — 4 hours ago
Surprisingly aromatic fruit, nearly opaque, flavors or red fruit with forward cherry and subtle raspberry flavors. The 1 liter bottle was a surprise. — 3 days ago
Ah Sobon Zin. The good stuff. This has some lovely cherry and berry aromas. With a bit of cut wood and nice smelling pipes. Flavor a a hint hot with a brandy/port streak, but that doesn’t detract from things because the fruit and zip is also there. Plenty to chew on and savor. This is jammy, classic foothills stuff. Full flavored and robust. Quite tasty too. — 12 days ago
Structured dark fruit. Love it. 2017 vintage — 8 days ago
This bottle was off dry. But in a really nice way.
Not sure what happened. The other renaissance wines we've had were definitely dry, a lot of variance bottle to bottle though.
Pretty ruby with brown showing thru the edges. Red spiced fruit and that mild sweetness. Barely noticeable tannins. — 21 days ago
Pairs well with brisket! — 3 days ago
