Years ago in a blind tasting of Spanish white wines a wine friend surprised us all. The quality of the wines was stunning at the most of us praised the wines and labelled them as Montrachet here, Montrachet there.
It was a humble experience and we all learned that day some important lessons. This wine is another great example of Vino Blanco and it delivers overall.
👃The nose delivers great purity and finesse, it’s a party in the nose of wild flowers and soft citrus tones. It’s a feast to smell this kind of nose.
👄In the mouth the wine is pure and powerful in the same time, it’s a wine that has great intensity but is waving very light through my mouth, it’s like pure silk.
💰💰This is a no brainer for me and with around €50,00 it’s not cheap but considering the crazy prices in the white Burgundy wine world it’s cheap.
🕰This is great drinking now but can and will develop in bottle in the upcoming years. — 8 days ago
Light bodied, good fruit, not spicy like it’s French counterpoint but drinks well and is food friendly — 7 days ago
100 % Cariñena from a very small vinyard Roncavall in Torroja.
Only 279 Bottles in 2015!
Tasted in april 2016 from barrel … now from bottle
Delicious wine from my friend Marc Ripoll, lovely perfumed nose with ripe black berries fruits, plum, cherries, authum forest, vanilla, spices, full bodied on the palate with elegant and delicate ripe fruit flavors, fresh notes, delicious fine tannin structure, warm mouthfeel, round, fine toasted cedar, Llicorella minerality, like this! 96 DSP — 7 days ago
Not sure of the varietal(s) in this Spanish Rose’. (Txakoli?) Very little information about this wine on the label of the bottle. Light pink color. Strawberry bubble gum on the nose and pallet. Extremely Fruit forward. Touch of mineral. Hints of RS and CO2. Quite refreshing. — 14 days ago
Hate to quibble, but the lower ratings on this make no sense to me. This is beautiful, like a lightly sherried Chablis, and the best Palomino I’ve had. — 6 days ago
This Spanish Monastrell is always enjoyable.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Showing black cherries, sweet plums, tobacco, oak, chocolates, earth, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins, and tangy raspberries.
Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good for parties.
Good right out of the bottle and better after an hour of airtime.
Organic and vegan.
15% alcohol by volume.
$14. — 3 days ago
While the 2012 was listed on the wine menu, and we were bummed it wasn’t available (it’s absolutely singing rn), we really loved the 2016. Same profile—big bold red w good acidity and an earthy taste. Big tannins too. This is delicious but a little too young. Will be great in another 3-5 years or more. — 3 days ago
Wild stuff but excellent. Nose smells a bit naturally. Lemon oil, but that natural skin contact thing. But very clean. Palate is grippy and concentrated. Sappy and pure. Great balance and purity. It’s an excellent example of what a natural wine should be but rarely is. Super clean and long. Legit structure. Complex and staggering levels of minerality. This can and will age. Long echoing finish. Really stellar. Wish more natty wine tasted like this. Then again Leclapart is a genius. — 9 days ago
Mid body and mid acidity. Fruity with a balanced earthy backbone. Interesting variety with special character. Nice surprise. — 9 days ago
Another great vintage of a wonderfully consistent Rioja. Made from fruit of vines that average 40 years old. Lots of aging in advance of this wine’s release. (And it’s considered a Crianza?) Aromas of blackberry, leather and dried rose petals. Blackberry and Black cherry on the pallet with a hint of orange peel. Hint of wood smoke on the finish. Dusty tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Solid QPR. — 6 days ago
