Love aged nose. Sous bois Italian style. Terrific spice. Lovely array of spice. Very complex and engaging. Mid season cherries. Palate is juicy and deep with beautiful mid season cherrie and terrific structure, depth and concentration. Lovely spice on the palate. Lingers. Very well balanced and some sauvage elements as well. Long finish. Not that elegant but beastly in a good way. Terrific juiciness that lingers. — 3 days ago

Spicy nose. A bit grapey initially. Sort of like an Alto-Piemonte version of Beaujolais. This is a field blend of 12 varietals. Mostly Croatina and Nebbiolo. Aged 12 months in stainless steel. Plenty of herbal notes with some pepper on the finish. — a month ago

A somewhat stunningly beautiful snapshot of evolution in a bottle. Definitely do not wait on this at this point (and no need to decant, but there is a ton of sediment). Pale brick red in the glass. Aromatically very nice, but lost a bit as the night wore on. Quite pure and fresh on the palate with light red cherries, dried red flowers, good acid, long finish. Very fun one to try. — a month ago

Yes it’s big and mouth coating and raisiny and plummy and all the things you would associate with a wine made in this way, but it still manages not to fatigue the palate. It’s rich and complex rather than clunky or unwieldy. Developing some secondary leather bound books kind of stuff, and some cocoa and spice. Not an every night kind of thing but very nice with this lamb merguez pasta — 2 months ago

An interesting wine for sure. It’s like it’s not sure whether it wants to be an Amarone or a Ripasso. Had an 11 a few weeks back and there was something kind of stilted about it - like a muffled shout - not sure if it was the vintage or whether the bottle was just at a weird point in its development. Gotta respect Quintarelli and all, but for $90 I wanted something more 🤷🏻‍♀️
