Compares well to a rose from Provence - good balance, delicate — 2 months ago
Blend of 50% Monastrell, 35% Garnacha, 15% Syrah from Castellon, Valencia, youngest wines of the estate (still, 53 years ain’t that young!), hence the name. Around half goes through carbonic, other half is macerated for 7 days in inox tanks. Organic farming, no pesticides, no sulphur, foot trod, no fining or filtration.
Reductive off the bat and takes a while to calm down and shrug off some of the funk which certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Smells and tasted way better in day two, still has that slight touch of horse saddle but the bitter black berry fruits really come to the fore along with blackberry, raspberry sour black cherry and a mix of liquorice and slightly musky spice.
Palate also comes together more on day two, acidity is still quite volatile and much better suited to a high acid food pairing. It’s all about sour black & blue berry fruit. Savoury and slightly wild. Would divide the room and certainly needs plenty of time to show well. — 5 months ago
We purchased a case from the winery. This is a subtle expression of chard. Bridges the divide between Napa opulence and steely burgs. Nice zippy nose, which presents grapefruits and white flowers. Palate displays lemon, with a wisp of sage. A hint of oak is also evident. Drink these now. — 4 months ago
Deep gold-green colour. Vanilla and oak on the nose. Tangerine, orange peel, clementine. Genuinely excellent — 2 months ago
Smells a little oaky, bits of blackberry, and bell pepper, tastes like dark fruit - ends quite oaky, with berry flavors on the tongue and lots of tannin — 3 months ago
Jako dobro, osvježavajuće ali zaokruženo. Plaćeno cca 45-55kn — 6 months ago
The wine is deep ruby colour. On the nose the wine has pronounced intensity aromas with primary aromas of black fruit (blackberry, black cherry, black plum); secondary aromas of oak (vanilla, cloves, coconut, cedar) and Malolactic conversion (butter, cream); and tertiary aromas of dried fruit (prune), earth and meat.
On the palate the wine is dry with high acidity, high fine grained tannins and medium alcohol. The wine has pronounced intensity flavours with primary flavours of black fruit (blackberry, black cherry, black plum); secondary flavours of oak (vanilla, cloves, coconut, cedar) and Malolactic conversion (butter, cream); and tertiary flavours of dried fruit (prune), earth and meat.
The wine is full bodied and has a long finish.
The wine is outstanding. The wine is balanced with ripe, rich and dried black fruit supported by a high acidity and medium alcohol and while tannic, the tannins are fine-grained. The wine has a long finish that is full of flavor. The aromas and the flavours are pronounced and full of nuanced tertiary aromas and flavours. It is showing typicity of an old-world continental moderate climate/vintage Syrah. — 7 months ago
