Coda Di Volpe

Torama Coda di Volpe 2017

Wow, lots to like here! Complex flavor arc. Honeyed mineral aroma, baked apple, citrus peel, saline and herbal on a very long finish. Really layered. Full, dark yellow, bordering on orange wine, dry throughout, and a touch bitter. Probably some skin contact, but not sure. Perfect for coming Fall dishes, so I’ll save my other bottles.

Follow up: it degrades significantly on day 2, even after pumping the air out.

Rancho Coda Gamay Noir 2021

Aromatic hibiscus. Kirsch cherry- tight dry tannins. Needs a few years to soften. Think this will age very well. — 2 months ago

Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco

Utterly distinctive. The nose and tannins suggest skin contact, but there’s also great vibrancy in the fruit and especially the minerality. — 2 months ago

Versante Nord Uve Bianche Terre Siciliane Minnella Blend 2021

Delectable Wine
9.0

Dusty and floral, the 2021 Uve Bianche Versant Nord lifts with a savory blend of dried flowers, peaches complicated and wet stone. It's round and soothing with ripe orchard fruits and tactile mineral tones. This finishes clean with a peppery-herbal tinge. The Versant Nord Uve Bianche is a blend of Minella, Carricante, Catarratto, Grecanico and Inzolia. (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023)
