Thanksgiving gift from Palmer. Bought at Specials. — 4 days ago
Opened up after 2.5-3hrs. It’s quite young. Tart blackberry, and blueberry, hints of black cherry. Medium leather, graphite pencil, cocoa notes. Very tight tannins. Requires further maturing within the bottle to unleash the dark fruit notes and express the leathery earth quality. Score of 9 for future potential. 8.6 now, due to the restrained notes and restrictively tight tannin. — a month ago
Outstanding vintage. DARK, big grip - exactly what I was looking for. — 4 days ago

Just as good as it was 3+ years ago in Sea Island!!
1 hour decant. Red color with brownish tones. Cherry and menthol on the nose. Lovely, coating texture. Medium depth. Very similar to the La Gaffeliere from the other night. Dominated by dark cherries and tar. Medium finish. Nice QPR. Paired nicely with Porchetta. — 14 days ago
Pierbone is the second wine of Cru Bourgeois Château Peyrabon, property of Patrick Bernard (also owner of Bordeaux négociant Millésima and cousin of Olivier Bernard who owns Domaine de Chevalier). While it doesn't have the depth and structure of the grand vin, it shows how well some of these second wines can age in great vintages like 2010. Drinking beautifully at 10 years old it has a slightly jammy Amarena cherries nose, intertwined with hints of cocoa and cedar wood. In the mouth the jamminess of the cherry fruit is well-balanced by the acidity and the ripe tannin. Not particularly complex, but a delight to drink now and well worth the 18 euros for a mature Haut-Médoc. Abv. 13,5%. — a month ago
