Wow! Cool red fruit, a subtle, fresh green note. Huge tannins and acidity, yet not aggressive. Very tight and shut down at this stage but has everything for the very long haul.

Classic left bank Cabernet. Graphite. Punches over weight class.

ReLly good nose - has masses to go still.

Clear,day bright and medium ruby, medium plus concentration and medium viscosity.
Clean, medium minus intensity,youth ,aromas of black berry, black cherry, anise, lather, cider box.
Dry, medium body and medium plus alcohol, medium acidity and medium tannin, medium finish and medium minus complexity. This wine is fine aromas, grip tannin, drink early. $325

Medium deep ruby, medium wide garnet rim . A bid rounder and more genourously fruited than the Cantemerle , ripe blackberry , blackcurrant , but some sea spray , oyster shell notes too . Tobacco hints also. On the palate this shows a bit more rounded generous fruit and some grippy , slightly rustic, tannins (more than the Cantemerle) good fresh acidity still . More fruit at first , and a little more glycerine on the palate . Good tobacco , blackcurrant and grafite finish , slightly saline , oyster shell notes also . Good length. This is showing better than the Cantemerle , and a little more generous in terms of fruit and ripeness . Good now but will now doubt age well further over the next 10-15 years . For Sociando Mallet this is a good , really quite accomplished wine.

The owner of this property shares the name of my first ancestor who step foot in America, Jean Gautreau. My last name evolved to Gaudreau, but I made a point to collect many different years of this wine which I find excellent every time I open a bottle. This 2010 is no exception, it is delicious .
