Vigneto Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

This was a little more shut down than past btls but with air revealing its greatness. Whole cluster showing lots of purity & elegance with notes of cherry, strawberry fruits, spice, rose petal & violet. Beautiful balance & length that needs more time but hard to resist now. — 13 days ago

Langhe Freisa 2018

Dark, fairly rustic and brooding. Better on the second night. It’s similarly unflattering as the Burlotto enjoyed recently. I’m thinking of Friesa as the Nuit St George off Piedmont. Next to the 2017 Rinaldi Dolcetto open at same time it’s more savoury and has more depth on the palate but is less bright on acidity. — 6 months ago

Barbera d'Alba 2015

was expecting the usual tart Barbera but this one is downright quaffable with just enough grip on the finish for dinner. — 3 months ago

Elatis Rosato Nebbiolo Blend

On the orange-side of rose. Surprisingly low acidity but perfectly refreshing nonetheless, and the bottle went down quite quickly. Nice mix of dried flower and orange peel. From a mix of their red grape varieties I believe. I don’t think this is one to keep, so go for latest vintage. Fifth bottle of Burlotto drinkers in last week and all have been enjoyable. Looking forward to trying their Langhe Mores blend for the first time tonight. — 6 months ago
