If you like aged champagne, this is the beer to try. Tart, funky barnyard notes mixed with fruit. Sour, but balanced. Belgian treat for sure. — 19 days ago

Tripel Karmeliet Ale

A trip down memory lane. I understand now why I liked it so much around 10 years ago. It's the rich smell of spices, banana and yeast. It's the strong carbonated mouthfeel and the delicate caramel notes along with a nice bitterness which sticks onto the tongue for a very long while. It's rich, it's intense and it's strong. I grew a bit tired of it's richness which is as opposed as one can imagine to the eastern European lagers I'm used to these days. Very nice moment — a month ago

Kwak Malt

Topaz with heavenly streamers stretching for perfection. Creamy head of structured perfection in terms of density and longevity. Perfect sheet of fog lacing falls like a slo-mo curtain to reveal layer two of mountain snows reflecting moonlight. Nose of bananas foster in all its blazing brandy and it’s caramelized olfactory topography; a malt image in sensory sepia to match the mountainscape. Nutmeg, cola and pecan dessert vies with baklava. The palate is a revelation in balance. The expected Belgian malt emerges in contrast to a dappled vanilla and Connecticut tobacco, pecan shell dryness, and chicory coffee before returning to a root tonic sweetness, and cardamom. #kwak #belgianspecialbeers #belgianale #belgianbeer #pauwelkwak #pauwelkwakbrewery #beer #bier #birra #biere #ale #ceveza #cerveja #belgium #belgian — a month ago

Brasserie Cantillon

Classic Gueuze Lambic

I rarely post beer on Delectable, mostly because I have a different app for that but Lambics get special consideration. And as far as Gueuze’s go, it doesn’t get much better than Cantillon’s Classic. Lambics are one of the few beers that can stand extended aging and this 375mL was bottled in 2016 so it’s still pretty young. This is hugely crushable and just about everything I want in a Gueuze. Bright stone fruit, earth and minerals. Incredible balance. Lovely acidity. I could drink this all day long and pairs well with almost any meal. — 13 days ago

Vigneronne Malt 2018

Bottled 12 OCT 2018. This is very good and evolved with air. I’m guessing it needs more age to really shine. Sour nose with grapes, hay, barnyard as it warms, lemon cream. Palate really changes from sour to wine and back to sour. The grapes really shine through in a nice way with tons of citrus, a hint of berries and cream, and some funk. So grateful I got to try this one. — 2 months ago
