Pertimali (Angelo Sassetti)

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

Vineyard is in Montosoli. Fully mature and at a very high level.
Beautiful dark cherry nose with earth and a more savory element. Dark fruit, tobacco, cedar and herbs on the palate. Silky tannins. Complex, long and balanced. Abv 13.5 Really shows how wonderful aged Sangiovese can be. Judy says”I like Italian wines”.

Seccal Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2017

Celebrated the day with the day off and hibachi for dinner with the family. This wine is very tannic but yet very fruit forward as well. 🥳 — 6 months ago

Prachiosso Roero Nebbiolo 2016

Love this so much - Very tart, which is definitely an acquired taste, and very dry. Hints of dark fruit and the bottle is rad. I’m getting a case of this. — 2 months ago

Germano Angelo

Vigna Rue Barolo Nebbiolo 2016

Decanted for 11/2 hrs.
First night w new glasses. Grassl Cru.
N: Ridiculous chocolate bar, strawberries, tar, savory herbs,( marjoram, rosemary, thyme, take your pick),bark and underbrush, alc.
P:Nice acid, tannin balance, though tannins are upfront. Savory elements, prickly oak, (more muted in the Spiegelau Burgs), Nothing red here, brown and dense, some cinnamon/cocoa. As it sits out, definite mushroom/porcini/forest qualities emerge.
A big boy 15.5° good for 49° baseball games.
