Guidalberto Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2017

Second wine still quite young, decant for sure and purple fruit comes alive in the glass. Robust acidity, spice on finish along with fine tannins. #toscana — a month ago

Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2017

Brief notes at a good Italian restaurant in Sanctuary Cove. We don’t often drink Amarone but we love it when we do. Rich and supple, blackberry like liquid Fruit and Nut milk chocolate. Touch of liquorice. An excellent match with Beef Ragu with Pappardelle pasta. — 9 months ago

At a tasting tonight where the '18 was poured, green on the nose but the palate was textbook. Nice, but didn't but any

We enjoyed the 2017 but as I said in the description we don’t drink a lot of Amarone. I have some big guns in the cellar which are approaching maturity.

Albe Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

Red fruit and thyme nose. Raspberry (and leaf) roasted vegetables (in a good way) white pepper with tannins at the edges. Opens nicely. Great pairing with lamb pasta. TBL — a month ago

Ripassa Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2017

From a Magnum bottle.
Developed nicely during the course of the evening. Flat at the beginning turning into a vivid smooth fruit forward experience. Brilliant Ruby color.

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Thought it would be fun to check in on the 2017 "Classico" while I patiently wait for my 2017 Riservas to arrive (long story). Popped and poured; enjoyed over several hours out of Burgundy glasses. In the glass, the wine is deep ruby color with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no obvious staining of the tears. On the nose, ripe cherrys with tar, herbs and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium++ tannins and medium+ acid. The fruit set is confirmed and despite the firm structure, comes across almost round and chewy. She thicc. Long finish. The 2017's are drinking well right now and noticeably better than my last note. Have confidence these will drink well through 2032. — 2 years ago
