An orange beauty here with floral aromatics. Lots of peach on the palate with a soft earthiness on the finish. Orange peel and a touch of honey in a cloudy glass for drinking now. Great entry level, skin contact white from a stellar producer.

Cloudy pale to mid gold in colour. A skins contact, white wine fermented in Clay Amphora in Sicily. Aromas of apricot, orange blossom and a little white pepper. On the palate a lot going on - full flavoured at only 12.0% alcohol and low acid - apricots and cumquat with the skins bitterness to finish off. Unique and an absolute mouthful of flavour. Can’t see any reason for cellaring it.

Nose of dried flowers, fino sherry and green tea. Notes of cider and autolysis detract just a bit- as they make the wine seem simple (which it isn’t)- but I’m sure the natural wine hive mind will disagree on that point. Still, quite saline, focused and super long. Imagine a few years of aging will bring added weight and richness. #occhipinti #sicily

Really overdelivers for the price. Hazy gold color, white flowers and lemon verbena on the nose, exotic palate of grapefruit, tangerine, stone fruit and honey. Would be wonderful with any regional cuisine ringing the Mediterranean. Don’t recall ever being disappointed by Ochippinti

Consistent in each vintage. I’ve had lots of bottles of this wine, yet every time the floral nose never prepares me for the blast of fresh melon & pear on the palate. I’ve never really been able to put my finger on the acidity, but it always seems fresh & bright so who cares. A bottle of enjoyment every time.

In my opinion occhipinti’s best and one of the best skin contact wines I’ve had. Beautifully floral, think earl grey... always better on the second glass and not over-chilled. Lovely orange zest and apricot finish. Maybe not for the VA and Brett loving goofball natural wine fanatics but definitely something interesting for someone with a more classic palette who craves complexity and subtlety.
