Medium intensity nose sports loads of tangy cherry and raspberry, along with a whiff of sandalwood and a note of sandstony/crushed rock minerality. In the mouth it’s balanced, reasonably concentrated, and bright. Flavors tend toward cherry liqueur and finish with a savory twist. Not as full bodied as some Cannonaus (only 14%). Nice dinner companion. — 5 years ago

The Antinori family of Florence, one of the world's oldest and most distinguished wine producers, has lived in Tuscany since the 14th century. Blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cab Sauv & 5% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby, aromas of black berry fruit aromas with herb, mint and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with cacao, vanilla and aromatic spice. Fine graceful tannins, long finish, well balanced, savory ending with oak and juicy earthy mineral tones. Very Nice! — 4 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a two days. Better on Day 2. On the pop and pour, this bottle was backward and really seemed resistant to show much. I didn’t detect any real flaws or faults…just sort of, “meh”. On Day 2, it had opened considerably. The 2017 pours a deep garnet with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe blackberries, currants, mixed flowers, black tea, ferrous earth and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now with patience and through 2042. — 15 days ago
