#Tannic beast of a wine! #Georgian #Saperavi by #NikaWinery. Have had wines from this #organic producer before that were much softer & more approachable. This #unfiltered offering needed to stay locked away in the #cellar for a little while yet until maybe it could have come around. Its tannic nature is not at balance with the somewhat high acidity. Interesting but very abrasive at this point. Will put a #cork in it and see what happens overnight. Hopefully it will soften and flesh out a bit, becoming something less assertive & better integrated tomorrow. #Optimistic. — 10 years ago
love aged #semillon from the #huntervalley this is #barossavalley but from the very cool 2002 vintage. another stellar #cellar discovery of a wine that was forgotten only to become something fine. Honey, toast, butter, lemon curd & excellent acidity leading to a long long finish. '02...very good year. Glad I got all 6 as this still has legs to run with for another half decade at least. Only $8.50/bottle! Luck be a lady! — 9 years ago
2nd time lucky. Not corked! Tuesday night #vino 1999 #Picardy #Shiraz from #Pemberton #WesternAustralia. Cool climate #wine with #cellar-aged character, Nose has traces of saddle leather, whiffs of mocha & echoes of bitumen woven upon a complex, savoury palate whose tannins and acidity are harmoniously embraced in a #delectable dance of ensorcelling length and beauteous joy. — 10 years ago
Very nice light. Little dry. Ends with a little sweetness. #cellar outlet direct — 8 years ago
Recommended: open, drink small glass, put cork back in, forget about it for two days. Or age it another 5-10 years, if you have that level of super human patience. I don't. #livesuptohype #bandol #decantthis #cellar #mourvèdre at it's finest. — 10 years ago
#DidierDagueneau 2007 Blanc Fumé de Pouilly apples, toasted biscuit, and river stones on nose with a palate that matches. Incredible balance and slaking acidity with a deft touch of ocean salt on the never ending finish. want more. only 2 bottles left in #cellar — 10 years ago

This is some #smoothcriminal type of #pinot #pinotnoir very age worthy and #cellar ageable. It is expensive but I feel it is a sure bet. #martinborough #newzealand — 3 years ago
