Got a few bottles at an amazing price and one of the best Pinot's I've had. — 3 years ago
Red fruits, spicy and delicious. She really likes it though... — 6 years ago
whiplash tangerine streak at first.....the tropical/lychee/rosewater thing of course....it leans a little oily, which may be the years on its side speaking, and there’s the faintest bit of something that falls between rubber and mint. a fleeting rose perfume comes back, then some grapefruit rind. then this weird thing that’s like baby aspirin rubbed into wet wood. plucky. — 6 years ago
From a site within Goldtropfchen this is an absolute stunner. 2017 sweet wines are 🔥🔥. Huge nose of apricot, minerals, sweet peaches, vulcanized rubber but in that Mosel way. So good. Amazing balance and richness. Like pink grapefruit with sugar on top and then a whiplash acidity, minerality and salinity. My god this is good. So clean and nimble while being intense and rich. The Mosel ballet. Finishes bone fry. Stunning wine. Coming to an inbox near you. — 7 years ago

Clay and limestone soils, with a higher proportion of clay. Killer nose of woodshop, lime zest and sweet richness. Rich and chewy, but the acid whiplash is insane. Smells like a scene in nature. Juicy, clean, rich, fleshy and creamy, with sweet minerality and outstanding balance. — 5 days ago
Love this Burgundian style throwback Cornas. Nose is deep blackberry and cassis with dried herbs and black olive. Huge crushed granite and a deep meatiness. Much to like on this nose. Palate is ripe and rich but elegant, succulent and juicy. Really nimble, fresh and gorgeous sweet fruit and tannins. Wow this is so impressive. Amazing texture and fruit clarity and a deep, mouth coating finish that lasts minutes. Profound showing. Unreal fruit whiplash on the finish makes this so elite. Silky and elegant. Just an amazing wine.
On day 2 this is so silky, sweet and velvety. Seductive. — 2 years ago
Bright medium ruby to the rim. Very ripe aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice pastille, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder and minerals, lifted by a note of lavender; just this side of liqueur-like. Dense, sweet, silky and firm, with wonderfully suave, dense flavors of dark berries, bitter chocolate and violet dominating. This savory wine finishes with a slowly building whiplash of flavor and the sophisticated seamless tannins to support a long evolution and graceful evolution in bottle. I still give the edge to the 2016 for its energy and lift, but this very deep, youthfully medicinal wine is potentially great as well. Real nobility of texture here (it saturates every square millimeter of the palate) and outstanding palate-staining length. Lots to come! (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, December 2020) — 6 years ago
Psycho saffron, honeyed apricots and tangelo, citrus, vanilla extract, electric acidity and so so pure, stunning depth, richness and purity. Sticks to your palate every nook and cranny. Such rich texture and whiplash acids. Insanely spicey mid palate during the swish. Wow. Just an unreal wine.

Lovely nose. Mineral, lemon, nutty. So juicy and so compact. Sleek. Mineral. More later. This was drunk so quickly with my Dad and Stepmom that I barely have any note. Was rich as Charmes can be. Buttery and ripe but it had whiplash acidity and such lovely purity. Wet earth and mineral started to dominate for the last glass which was the best. Gorgeous wine. Needs 3 hours or 3-5 years. — 8 years ago

Second time tasting this bottle. This is an entry level 1er Cru Red Burgundy by one of my favorite producers there. Color screams Pinot, and the nose takes you there: red cherry, forest, clean wet earthy scents. The palate is vibrant with ripe red fruit deep minerality, high acidity, medium alcohol, soft tannins, and plush witty finish with a whiplash cherry note on the very end. A great wine that tastes great young, and under a Benjamin too. Roars real value. Chill for best tasting experience, the coldness tames the fruit. Loving this! — a year ago
While eating figues on saint felicien and watching „Whiplash“ — 5 years ago

Hanami is year after year one of the best values I can find. I’m careful with Cab Franc the way I am with Chardonnay. The good ones are beautiful and the bad ones are whiplash.
This is deep and complete and a textural therapy. Smells like cinnamon and cocoa powder and wild strawberries. Tastes like raspberries and blood oranges.
Feels like sweat pants right out the dryer; or melted milk chocolate. — 6 years ago
Enigmatic and just tremendous aromas. Ripe pear, lavender, mountain herbs, Bosc pear, apple skin, lovely nose. Mountain stream. So fresh, dynamic and pure. Palate is rich, ripe, opulent and concentrated with a whiplash of juicy fruit, herbs and insane acidity. Long, balanced and so pure. Shows ripeness of vintage with classic Altesse acidity, herbaciousness and freshness. — 7 years ago

Big nose. Blueberry, blackberry, red cherry, plum, spice and a general sense of cool climate. Palate is rich but with a whiplash of acidity and freshness on the finish. Very pure and clean. Good fruit and excellent hint of rusticity but also a good structure and acid spine to ensure nice aging. — 7 years ago
This has aged into quite a beauty. Floral, lots of potting soil, some cassis, fresh rain, meadow, a dark profile yet aged yet not. Terrific nose. Lots of tar and tobacco as well. Palate is compact and fresh with nice density and opulence and length. Persistent. Good ripe tannins and that trademark 2000 whiplash acidity. Love it. — 8 years ago
Bright red. Clean, fresh strawberry and blood orange on the enticing nose. Fresh and juicy, with youthfully chewy but vibrant red fruit and citrus flavors. Finishes long and peppery, with a whiplash of juicy acidity. Knockout, fun-to-drink Cannonau wine that goes down like water. Honestly, I found it hard not to guzzle down every glass. Well done. From Chatenière and Champlot, with vines around 50 and 15 years old. Great aroma, huge fruit, saline lift, and super aromatics. Wonderful freshness and wood, juicy and clean, with insane acidity, huge density, mouthwatering acid whiplash, and a finish that just keeps dissipating. So long, so pure, so elegant. Wow. — 6 days ago
