Been a minute with this wine and wow it’s so just what I needed. Grapefruit, greengage, sage, herbs, lime zest and a deep wet rock mineral background. Serious and playful. Palate is just stunning. Deep, resonant and fresh with awesome structure and juiciness. Sweet herbal flavors, grapefruit and some lime zest round out the complex and super zesty finish. This NEEDS a and hour decant. Do NOT a drink sooner.

Nose: yellow flowers. White flowers. Lovely. Really a great nose.

Palate: lemon Zest. Hints of tropical fruit. Mineral. A bit confused. Let’s see where this goes.

As this opens its like elite unoaked condrieu. Silky minerals. Just a hint of tropicality it not so much as to make it annoying. Elegant. Wow.

A great contrast to weltner which is denser and more impactful. This is way on the elegant side of things. Wispy.

Vintage 2017 | Amazing how fresh the Franken Silvaner stays after bottle and cellar years. Honeymelon and citrus in smell, minerality in taste, crisp and fresh. Almonds in aftertaste. Paired with Thai Pad Kra Pao from tofu. | second day with sole and asparagus, very adequate. — 21 days ago
