Like a sweet vermouth. Great in a negroni, other mixed drinks, spritzer, or on its own. — a day ago
This is a incredible wine consider its costs and quality! It’s 24 years old and still rocking, and ok it’s one thing to mention I’m for years in love with the winemaker. Those of us who had the privilege to met Elisabetta nows I’m right with my love for her. She’s a star in the region and is the maker of some great white and red wines. This Sono is made of 100% Sangiovese and is a clear and pure wine, it’s wonderful matured and very rich of dark fruit and some dried meat. I’m so surprised this wine survived so well and still has years ahead. Give it time and air and you will be rewarded with a great wine. 94 points and 1 point because I love her! — a month ago
Honey, orange blossom, lemon, and a hint of natty funk. Slightly sparkling. Medium acidity. — 8 days ago
This wine is made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero grapes from Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG in Tuscany. It aged over two years in Slavonian and French oak barrels and at least one year in the bottle prior to release.
It is a medium ruby wine with a secondary garnet hue.
It is elegant, dry, and balanced, and offers medium intensity of tart cherry, ripe blackberry, and plum, along with violet, licorice, clove, toast, cedar, nutmeg, tobacco, and wet earth notes.
The structure is solid with medium(+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium(+) tannins, and a medium(+) finish. The flavors and aromas are concentrated.
This wine may be consumed now and has potential for further aging. It also has a lot of food-pairing potential. We’re pairing it with a traditional spaghetti pasta dish this evening.
