During the initial hour of opening the wine has an elegant almost northern/piedmont character... the next day this wine really comes into its own. the wood and the fruit are restrained, but all well integrated with classic tobacco and leather notes.

Been awhile since my last Vino Nobile-too many other regions, I guess. Nice savory tones, sour cherry, maybe a little thin? I need to brush up on on my VNdM!

Straight out the bottle, earthy and dark fruit on the nose. Somewhat tannic and a bit spicy, but nice acidity. My medium ribeye and garlic mashed said thanks. The next day mellowed out nicely with more pronounced cherry flavors. Finished well with a buttery grilled gouda on Challah.

Nose of blueberry and puff pastry with a hint of fennel seed and tobacco. On the palette, blueberry and blackberry with a bit of dark cherry, plus licorice and fennel and a bit of cigar box and pencil lead. Nicely done.
