Great balance of age and fruit. Bright yet sophisticated. Bold and beautiful. Viva Italia 🍷

Primarily Sangiovese with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blended in. Dark ruby color with a slight brick rim. Extremely savory aromas of forest floor, wet soil, violets and wild herbs. The palate features mushroom, black cherry/raspberry/plum jam, coffee, dark chocolate and baking spices. A nutty note on the long and persistent finish. Well rounded tannins and medium-plus bodied. Quite leafy and earthy. Fruit is deep in the background. Needs a long decant. Thanking Weston and Beckki for sharing this bottle. Revisited in April 2024. Quite savory.

See previous. This wine, bought basically blind, delivers as the cliche says… way above it’s price point.
My post Covid mouth still is reductive, but the Sangiovese fruit comes singing through, wood too. Some cocoa on the nose, lots of iron/sanguine on the palate.
Refreshing acidity to boot.
Perfect with Tomatoes and cannellini bean pasta.

First whiff, cocoa! Then deep cherries in wood. Eucalyptus/rosemary/ herbs. The wife gets some jolly rancher. Mid-weight on the palate. Nice acidity, more herbs, bit of tomato leaf, With aeration, LOTS of liquorice.really nice Sangiovese character. A great deal !
Thanks@Garagiste.
