Vineyards On The Scuppernong River

Rochioli

Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019

We had the 2019 Vintage on 8/4-5/24. A fantastic RRV PN. Black cherry, black raspberry, Cinnamon, baking spice and cola. Medium bodied with a wonderful mouth feel. Smoothed out tannins with a nice finish. Would definitely buy more. I like this more than their single vineyard offerings — a month ago

Delicious - classic Pommardian nose of ripe cherries, sassafras, and warm warm spices. Med bodied, elegant, generous mid palate, everything in place and balanced w/impressive length on finish. — 3 months ago

Heavy on the cherry / red fruit flavour — and that’s not a bad thing at all — 3 months ago

Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2016

Unscrewed and poured; no formal notes. These friggen Chardonnays from Margaret River. I’ve been blinded on them too many times to count and I never call it right. Instead, I always seem to call a high acid grape like Riesling of Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sometimes tropical, always with citrus and sometimes is shows green apple and always with awesome minerals. Acid is squarely in the high category. They are lovely wines that just seem to throw me for a loop. If Chablis, the Mosel and Sancerre had a love child. Drink now and through 2036 easy. A fabulous pairing with lamb massaman, larb and papaya salad. How can they hide the 100% new French oak so well?! — 5 months ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Your perfectly balanced buttery char. Buttery but still has some crisp green apple notes. Easy and fun to drink on a summer day. Pairs well with lobster or buttery biscuit crackers. Overall really well rounded. — 2 months ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2020

A blend from several vineyards, including Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Bright Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, vanilla and oak, aged on French oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with spice, ripe fruit and oaky tones. Very Nice! — 3 months ago

Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2021

Medium lemon color with aromas of tropical, stone and citrus fruits adding mineral notes, aged 10 months in 28% new oak. On the palate flavors of pineapple, peach and lemon citrus wrapped in smooth spicy tones. Long finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, notes of flinty mineral and savory citrus character. Nice! — 4 months ago
