Case Via Toscana Pinot Nero 2020

The 2020 is drinking lovely. Aroma of licorice, dark fruit , slate, grapefruit on palate firm tanins , enjoyable but will age well. — 3 months ago

Case Via Colli Toscana Centrale Syrah 2013

Remarkable syrah with tons of cocoa and cherries. Also some typical (italian?) acidity.
Good effort.

Via Revolucionaria Ancellota La Criolla Grande Mendoza Red Blend 2022

Bought it for the label and actually really enjoyed it. Like bojo with a feral unwashed children aroma. — 6 months ago

Paloma

Napa Valley Merlot 1995

Cork broke in half on its way out, so initially some musty cardboard aromas, but it seems to be blowing off and the palate and finish are still quite structured and rich, so I don’t think it’s corked, long finish, needs some aeration. — 4 months ago

Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo 1989

Taken to Via Carota in the West Village. Decanted for 8 hours in the hotel room. Deep tawny color. Opaque. Amazing nose that screams old Nebbiolo. Notes of sweet red and black cherries, red rose petals, anise, old wooden desk, black soil and a hint of tar. Super rich in the mouth. Coats the palate. One of the best Barolos I’ve ever had. At peak yet still youthful. This can easily go for another 20 years. Bravo. — 2 years ago
