What a wonderful mencia varietal, balanced and bright red, tint of strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, baking spice, pepper and licorice. I love it!!! — a month ago
Mencia at its finest - if a little young & wound up. Raspberry & brambly stems, dried rose petal, allspice & cloves, dry, fragrant Mediterranean scrub, a touch of wet iron or rust. — 2 months ago

Una buena Mencia, contundente, afrutado, bien equilibrado, post-gusto largo — a month ago
Mucho mejor de lo esperado, buen balance de fruta seca y madera, vainilla. — 10 days ago

Always fun to explore an indigenous varietal from Spain - especially when Alvaro Palacios is involved. I found this Mencia wine to be medium bodied with good acidity and structured tannins that were present in this young wine but not obnoxiously so. The fruit is darker dried red fruit that proved to be a good compliment with grilled shishito peppers. It was so nice to dive into a new aspect of Spain’s wine history. — 4 hours ago
