Visited the Jameson Distillery while in Dublin. Was an interesting experience.
This whiskey is matured in charred bourbon barrels.
Nose - banana and toffee. Palate- caramel and toasted oak.
Makes a good cocktail with fresh lime and ginger ale.

2023 Whisky Advent Calendar, Day 7: Kavalan Single Malt Triple Sherry Cask. Didn’t save my notes correctly due to a wifi glitch. Only the rating number was saved and I just noticed three days later. But I do remember I thought this was very complex and quite interesting. — a year ago
Dark, dry, high tannin wine made from whole cluster fermentation and low temperature; no oak. We visited this small charming winery a few years back just south of Mendoza. A small family operation. The father had worked for years for one of the large wineries. Then saved enough money to start his own on just a few hectares. Stacking in the grape plants with double and triple levels of cordons for maximum light interception in this tight area. I could swear they had named each of their grape plants. Well crafted wines, very balanced. — 3 years ago
Raspberry, red fruit on the nose. Cherry on the fore palate, followed by hints of candied plums and a long, smooth finish of soft tannins & oak. (French onion soup, Bacon wrapped fillet mignon, sautéed zucchini and mushrooms, triple berry crisp), — 2 years ago
This is great, but was shocked that it had so much oak characteristics. Not what I was expecting! Nose is wonderful plums, fresh herbs, cedar, and even a bit of leather. Palate is more plums, cherries, red apple skin, then oak, baking spice. I really like it and would have never guessed this as a broc wine. Fascinating to go back in their vault. Would love to know more about this one. — 4 years ago
A cracking little peated blended whisky — 4 years ago
"Odedi"
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.
Lots of fresh red fruits on the nose with tobacco leaf, herbs, light oak, wild flowers, vegetables, light barnyard, mushrooms, spices and light earth.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with red plums, fresh picked cherries, strawberries, spices, light wood, herbs, green tea, black pepper, earth and light dark chocolates.
Elegant finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Pinot Noir from Williamette Valley. Nicely balanced with nice complexity, albeit still very young.
This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a good quality wine. Easy drinking and made in Burgundian style.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with some air time. The nose becomes more flowery after 45 minutes of airtime.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 8 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. Paired very nicely with the triple cream Brie cheese with wild mushrooms.
100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged for 10 months in (35% new) French Oak barrels.
13.4% alcohol by volume.
