Wow, what a stunner. Its explosive bouquet wafts from the glass showing layers of sweet ripe red fruit, crème de cassis, mocha and black truffles, with well judged oak staying in the background. It expands on the palate showing superb depth, vibrancy, ripe tannins and an amazing lush and luxurious texture with a finish that just goes on and on. Hedonistic and opulent, this 40th anniversary vintage is absolutely singing at age 20, and it hides its record high 14.2% alcohol with ease. First growth California? ;) — 5 years ago

A stunner. Opened with that rustic cab smell. Not sure what lies beneath that initial nose. And then just pure explosive goodness in the glass. Black fruit, swirling with brown fruit in every sip. Lingering finish made for a wonderful moment or two. — 7 years ago

Not the best of vintage in Bdx, but the winemaker clearly pulled off some acrobatics here.
Nose displays the usual Cos spice-box signature, along with notes of forest floor, sage and mushrooms. Palate is rich and dense showing no signs of age. Nice mature casis profile links up with brambles and sandalwood. Tannins continue to prop up this outstanding example. — 9 months ago

Decanted for 24 hours so that it could open up as it’s so young.
Incredible flavour, complex, red fruits but not too bold and some nuisance too.
Time will serve this well. A winemaker who dances to his own tune and making great music. — 5 years ago
