Silver Oak

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

This Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a soft and tasty red with plummy flavors and hints of chocolate and coffee with a smooth silky finish. The longer it breathes the softer and silkier it gets. — a month ago

Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Big juice. A classic. Supple. Opulent. Dark fruit and leather and and cedar and flint. Just melts into your tongue like dark chocolate. Always a banger. — 3 months ago

Silver Oak

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

2007 vintage. Bottle was stored correctly and the wine is fantastic. 2007 vintage was a great one and 17 years later tasting great. The wine is very smooth with notes of tobacco chocolate and a little spice and dark red fruit — a month ago

Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

v19. Outstanding! Candied white pepper and cedar nose. Deep, rich, black currant and black licorice fruit. Long, smooth, slightly astringent, chocolate and soft leather finish. Nicely balanced. — 2 months ago

Reserve Tapestry Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Costco had this at a really nice price point. This 2018 is delicious.. lip smacking! Tar, graphite, dark berries, dark chocolate, expresso, black licorice, violets, Rutherford dust, Forrest floor, and eucalyptus. Hopefully, I will get to visit a 15 yr old! — 3 months ago

Very good producer and this bottling is their best value. A real treat when they’re 15-20 years old. You can find them on the secondary market Winebid.com etc..

When looking at secondary markets for older wines, only buy bottles from humidity & temperature controlled storage, no depressed or elevated corks, no signs of sepage (they have to list these) and look at fill on the bottle neck. If it is at the base, I’d avoid. You follow these guidelines, you’ll be fine. These bottlings are just that amazing w/ that kind of age. Happy shopping and holidays!

Insignia Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

This full bodied cab was a delight. Rich dark berries, chocolate, leather and perfect amount of tannins. The longer it decanted the smoother and flavorful it became. — a month ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Last had this 3 years ago and there has been minimal development. That being said its still a total banger. Chocolate, berries and graphite but its the finess and silky smoothness that stands out. Went well with Pizza 🤣 — 2 months ago

If 09 lives up to the comparison of 1982, then given the number of 1982’s I’ve had over the years, worth waiting.
